DIY iTunes cell phone

Tired of waiting for Motorola/Apple to release the long overdue 'iTunes phone'?

Using a clever combination of hymn and Automator, it is possible to play your purchased music on any cell phone capable of playing AAC files. Selected songs & playlists are copied, decrypted and sent over bluetooth to your cell phone in a matter of minutes.

Interested? Here's what you'll need:

1. An AAC-capable phone such as the Sony Ericsson k750i
2. A Bluetooth-enabled mac running OS 10.4 Tiger
3. The latest version (0.8.0) of the CLI version of hymn.
4. The Bluetooth Object Push Automator action
5. My iTunes2Phone Automator application

Step 1: Build the hymn binaries. This step does require a basic knowledge of the Terminal, but if you follow the included instructions you can't go wrong.

Step 2: Install the Bluetooth Object Push action

Step 3: Open iTunes, select your favorite protected/non-protected tracks

Step 4: Run the iTunes2Phone application.

Step 5: (optional) Place the iTunes2Phone application along with this Applescript file in the ~/Library/iTunes/Scripts folder. This will add a 'Send to Phone' menu item to itunes, allowing for convenient access to the program. You can even assign a key combination...

The last step may take anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes, depending on the number of tracks and the transfer speed of your Bluetooth phone.

pure, unadulterated horror

Warning:The movie contained at the link below is not for the easily frightened. It contains graphic footage of violent and sometimes random bloodenings. All characters are fictional, any resemblance to actual people is purely coincidental.

snapshots of my life

Some photographs i've taken over the years... prizes to those who can guess where they were taken (my firstborn to anyone can guess when)

Jittery Heritage

Ok, apart from the obviously amazing album cover, anyone who has ever asked themselves (or others) "who peed in my pants?" needs this song. Perfectly capturing that feeling of slowly relinquishing your grip on reality, Jittery Heritage is a perfect addition to any substance-abuser's playlist.
